Neon Muzeum app for iPhone and iPad

Polands First Neon Museum - which is dedicated to the documentation and preservation of Polands cold war era neon signs. App uses iBeacons technology to micro locate you inside the Neon Museum and give you extra content such as: historical information about the neons in our collection, audio tours by the Directors, and lots of fun facts and figures!
The Neon Muzeum was born in 2005 with the photographer Ilona Karwinskas documentation project entitled Polish Neon. Along with the graphic designer and typographer David Hill, they began their mission to save these historically important and visually unique neon signs from destruction.

The Neon Muzeum, and grounds of the Soho Factory where it is located, is now home to more than 70 neon signs... Over 700 letterforms, archival materials such as blueprints and old photographs. Whats so special about these neon signs? Well, they were designed by some of the greatest Polish artists, graphic designers and architects during the neonisation boom of the 50s,60s and 70s.

During the European Museum Night event in May 2013, we had over 16,0000 visitors in a single night - making us one of Polands leading tourist destinations. We are a private museum and depend on your donations to restore and bring the neons back to light.

Pierwsze w Polsce MUZEUM NEONÓW, którego celem jest dokumentacja i ochrona powojennych reklam świetlnych. Aplikacja wykorzystuje technologię iBeacons do mikrolokalizacji oraz do odblokowania dodatkowych treści bedąc w muzeum.

Projekt dokumentacji i ratowania neonów prowadzimy od 2005 r. Nasze starania są odpowiedzią na rosnące zainteresowanie tematem neonów, z jakim spotkaliśmy się po licznych wystawach oraz publikacjach.

Muzeum Neonów, do tej pory bezdomne, wprowadziło się i ma teraz siedzibę na terenie Soho Factory w Warszawie. Otwarcie muzeum odbyło się w czasie europejskiej Nocy Muzeów 19 maja 2012 r., kiedy w tę jedną noc odwiedziło nas ponad 10,000 zwiedzających.
